Following the accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in April 1986, most of the surrounding area remains contaminated with radioactive elements.

The CCLL Mid Surrey Link is part of a national charity called the "Chernobyl Children's Life Line". We bring groups of children affected by the disaster to the Ashtead/Epsom/Leatherhead area in Surrey, providing them with a four-week break from the after-effects of that accident. Since the inception of the CCLL Mid Surrey Link we have hosted a total of 174 children in eleven summer visits and four Christmas visits.

Our visit this summer provides twelve children with an opportunity to build up their immune systems by spending 4 weeks eating uncontaminated food in an environment free from radiation. Interested in being involved in future visits?
